Dear Bridge,

(For sense: Timestamp 5:50)

Anyway, from [ profile] itsbuttery:

Choose three completed stories you've done, and list at least one thing about each you wish you would've done differently when you wrote it.

You assume I don't blast all fics I dislike into digital oblivion. )

And from [ profile] mariko_azrael:

When you see this, post a little weensy excerpt from as many random works-in-progress as you can find lying around. Who knows? Maybe inspiration will burst forth and do something, um, inspiration-y.

Oh, my WiPs. The horror. 5 under the cut. )

So, you see, I did *try* to do the Prompt-a-thon, it just... didn't get finished. Or started, really. I have this problem with being unable to decide endings. This is most notable in the one with Sakura's son. I could *not* decide who was dead, and who the father of that child was. Which is why it has been neglected for nearly a year. So.

Oh, and if anyone wants me to do that other meme, leave me a list of 12 characters in the comments. I just wasn't getting anywhere.

Anyway, things that are really awesome:
The Digimon 10th Anniversary CD. You can d/l it over at [ profile] digimon if you want. I like it because of all the uplifting songs. I mean, of course they are. But. Lines like, "Because flowers will always, always bloom," and stuff. They are the stuff of Japanese idealism love. Also, Try Again sounds like a song from StrongBad's e-mails.

Chou Ninja Tai Inazuma Spark!. I NEARLY DIED. NO SERIOUSLY. Especially at the spoken "Judgement time chick chick chick chick chick Delete Approval!" I AM DOING THAT FROM NOW ON.

Flash: Blood Will Run. I would write an actual review, but basically it comes down to my undying love for Wally even when he's a jerk. So.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Yes, well, it was what I expected at least. I can't believe they didn't help Dean Thomas, though. Anyway, I would have Deep Thoughts, but I am just Too Lazy.

KataKoi 2-4. You may recall me telling you not to watch anymore, but that doesn't mean I stopped. Besides, I still like Nagai Masaru. Anyway, I'm learning a lot of new vocabulary like "cheating." And how to threaten someone for bashing the JSDF if you are a flamboyant gay man. Also, there is random 80's music.

HanaKimi 5. Have I mentioned my deep, undying love for Mizushima Hiro lately? Because I do. Have deep, undying love. Anyway, the little old lady was awesome. And, um, Mrs. Namba. And their giant light up sign. Also, I have now figured out how everyone was seeing it before me (veoh, while I was actually d/ling it), so I can watch it early too. HA!

This Post. No, seriously, GO READ IT NOW.

Okay, that's my list for now. I leave you with the goings-on of my family:

[Talking about hypothetical grandchildren]
Mom: I will be no one's "Grandma." They'll call me "Nana."
Me: about "Swinging Matriarch Tammmy"?

[My dad doesn't want any apple pie]
Me: You're un-American! We should have you hauled up in front of the HUAC, you Communist!
Dad: I'm sure my 27 years of military service won't count.
Me: Doesn't matter! The only way you can get out of it is to rat out your communist friends!
Dad: Anyway, the Communists aren't the enemy anymore, it's the terrorists.
Me: Ah, but what about the Communist Terrorists?
capncosmo: Clueless (Default)
So, yeah. Cleaned some stuff. Read that book. Saw Transformers. )

Anyway, who's ready for a fun work story in which I inadvertantly destroy a marriage?

So, you all know I'm making phone calls. I'm in the middle of a list of an even thousand at the moment, and dragging myself into work at o'dark thirty so I can hit as many voicemails as possible and just *get through it* (Which explains my odd LJ posts; I *have* to sleep when I get home, and it is my custom to spend nights reading.) Anyway, we're making sure no one needs help registering for our conference. It's a matchmaking conference for small businesses and larger businesses so the small guys can find a larger company who needs something like they're developing. Anyway, this morning I had this conversation:

Me: *schpeel*
Woman: Well, I can take a message for [guy I was trying to call].
Me: *assumes she is his secretary* *continues schpeel*
Woman: So what is this thing.
Me: Well, it's a matchmaking conference--
Woman: [angrily] This is his wife. I don't think he's interested.
Me: ??? Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't--
Woman: *click*
--Ten Minutes Later--
Me: Oh! She thought--!!

So, yes, I am a HOMEWRECKER. I hope that guy didn't get into trouble...

So, I feel the urge to write meta. On being a writer and how *weird* it is. )
capncosmo: Clueless (Default)
So, remember how I said I was going to get serious about writing that [ profile] ship_manifesto and then I didn't? Well, I found something I'd already written and turned into the introduction. I know, I know, I'm made of Awesome )

Anyway. Had my annual avatar adventure in GCF, my Star Trek RPG. I'm not sure which I like better. I mean, I definitely like last year's concept better, but I think this year's was better done. *shrug*

Whoa. I just updated the history section of Life's a Show. I haven't done so in, like, a year. Man, note to self, never do *that* again. Anyway, two PMs and two posts later, I emerge victorious to await fleet mission instruction and something brilliantly masterful from Katana. w00t. Now I just have to start writing the beginning to Time is Too Short. Well, and deciding how I want it structured. But.

So, this morning I got up an hour early to get my car inspected, and yet I was late to work. This is not fair. Of course, maybe if I hadn't waited until the end of the month, it wouldn't have been a problem. Oops?

Okay, I have two COMPLETELY ADORABLE things to link you to:

Blue Beetle is awesome. I have NO IDEA who he is, he's still awesome. [Scans, DC]

I want to be Jay Garrick when I grow up, too, Nightwing. [Scans, DC]

No, seriously, Jay [Flash I] is the coolest d00d around. Not even kidding. And I love how the Flashes are all buddy-buddy with their rogues.

Well, my car is registered, my checkbooks balanced, and everyone here apparently has NOTHING THEY NEED DOING. Christine gave me this tiny thing that took me AT MOST half an hour. But that's it. I have also finished reading the Barry Allen tag at [ profile] scans_daily which actually has this really interesting reposting of parts of the whole time when Barry was on trial for killing Reverse-Flash (in 11 parts!).

I must have written more than I thought last summer to keep myself amused.

20 Things in my Personal Bouken Canon )

And now I work. Or perhaps talk to Kate some more.
capncosmo: Clueless (Default)
An entry! An entry, I say!

Well, good news: I posted. w00t for me. I have to post again tomorrow and then make Kate post, but.

I backed up my hard drive. This was a long and horrendous process.

I reread HBP. And I realized it's printed plainly in the book that Snape isn't evil. B/c Hagrid overhears this conversation where Snape and DDore were having this fight about something Snape *really* didn't want to do but he had already promised. And I was like, "thx Hagrid lolz". Just like that.

I have to get up early tomorrow to get my car inspected. Boo.

I ordered some Flash tpbs last night. I have decided I need a little more joy in my life, and also, I don't buy manga anymore really, so.

Oh, right, that Movie With The Ending Of Which We Shall Not Speak. Yeah, saw it. Um, well... I guess it was good as a movie goes. As a devoted Norrington fangirl fan of the series, however, it left a lot to be desired. I kind of wish we could put the genie back in the bottle and just leave off at the (mostly) happy ending of CotBP, but. It's still worth seeing, and I especially loved the spoiler ). That was HILARIOUS. But... Yeah. Now we just have to wait for the disappointment that will be OotP and the circle will be complete.

See it now!

Rachel tells me SG-1 never aired on Friday, so we won't be doing that. But I did see Den-O 17 )

I have been productive all day, even through lunch, so it is time for a short break.

I finished the thing I was working on yesterday. Or, at least, as finished as I could get it, seeing as not all the info was available. But, whatever.

Anyway, now I'm working on two new things. Well, one new thing, and one old thing that has reappeared again in a slightly new way.

One is the DTRA FAQ, which was one of my projects from last summer. This time I'm updating it to reflect the fact that we have a million of these things going on at once now since we won more contracts, and each one has different specs. As such, I'm using Access and VBScript (which I'm just copy-pasting; I don't actually know anything about it) to make it display different text based on different session ids. Whee.

The second I'm nore excited about, especially because I'll get to learn something new. We had a meeting this morning about trying to consolidate the programming/web design people and pool resources. As such, we need to get both a list of people and their skills and past projects, and also a list of all the various sample code and software we have lying around so people don't have to go looking for it when they need it. My first lead is Microsoft SharePoint, which appears to be a very complicated, but potentially very rewarding lead. Especially because there's one called service that comes with Server 2003, and one called Server you need a whole nother licence for, and one called designer, which is actually FrontPage in disguise. Since FrontPage is getting the axe. I would dance for joy, but I do have to give FrontPage credit for being better than Word. Anyway, so this is, like, the perfect project for me: figure out new software, and create extensive lists of links and archives by poking around looking for stuff. Never fear, I'll still be filling your friends pages with lists of links and archival cuts! But to get paid for it will be fun.

Saw Shrek 3 with Christine last night. Fun was had all around, especially when I was almost late. Mostly because I had to drive clear across Fairfax to Centerville, but. Anyway, you don't care about that, you care about the movie. Um, it was good, I guess. There were a lot of funny parts, but it was also a little contrived. Above average for killing time, but not something you'd want to watch a million times. It also has body switching. And Julie Andrews hums DoReMi. So.

See it now!
See it
Uni MallX
Don't see itX

Haha, now it is time for a frantic post scramble because the Tristanator's on the warpath. Again. I'd just like to say for the record, Tristanator, that I am the only one up to date on my paperwork. Of course, I haven't finished an Empire post in, oh, what? A month and a half? Yes, well. And anyone who wants to take issue with (temporarily) dropping Masters can be directed to my Tale of woe and sorrow. Yes, that was five seperate links. It's a long tale.

I don't understand why I lose focus so much in the afternoon. Like, right now, I just want to click randomly on windows. Which, you know, might actually provide a *little* amusement since I have 14 open right now. This morning I was a working machine, though. Saa. I got a lot done today, so... It's fine I guess.

Oh, and, I changed classes again. It's a Philosophy class in Blair at 9, which is no good, but it actually sounds interesting and isn't the second semester of 2. I'm going to keep looking, though.

So, Kate and I are going to Chili's. ...This promises to be interesting.

EXCITING!! So, the first time I watched At-Home-Dad, the lifeguard looked really familiar to me, but I couldn't place him. Well, today we were watching it, and he said, "gomen nasai," and it hit me. HE'S TATSUYA. YES, THAT TATSUYA!! It was a moment of great joy, though I could not share it with anyone.

In other news, Rhys Katarn needs to stop hijacking the awesomeness that is Jonas Quinn for his stupid purposes.

I know almost all the words to POP STAR. This is slightly disturbing.

I saw a linguistics joke on a bumper sticker (I think)! It said, "I stop for k, g, p, b, n, m" and some other letters too that I can't remember right now BUT.

Apparently my tires are irrepairably damaged, so we're going to replace all four of them tonight, even though only two actually need it. It'd be nice if we coudl just, you know, keep the other two around or something... And I did my sewing while I waited for them to look at my tires and tell me they couldn't fix them, so that's done. I think I'll bring my vest to sew while I wait tonight. I also talked to the other girl that was there.

I started watching my obscene amounts of M*A*S*H last night. Man, I love that show, even its completely incongruous weather. Well, the weather makes sense because they obviously couldn't tell the story of a three year war in eleven, so time was obviously going to be a little screwy.

So, I heard a song on the radio that sounded JUST LIKE the FFIX (I think) boss battle theme! Okay, the melody wasn't exactly the same. But it was set up the same way with the drums like babadababadababadababada and then the synthesizer and then later the base notes and whoa.

Blah blah GCF )

I may be courting disaster with this comment, but: d00ds, the thing I just wrote for work has been soaked in the blood of grammatical heretics red pen. And I wrote it. If I can find that much wrong with my own work, is it any surprise I have a lot of corrections to make when I read other things?

It was requested I repost the movie list I was talking about yesterday, so here it is. Also, something I didn't notice the first time? Samuel L. Jackson: Afro Samurai. Oh, please no.

100 Movies for 2007 )

A w1nn4r is me:

me: I broke you!

Also, Mike likes the Japanese introduction I wrote for him:
僕の名前はマイクです。いつかオリンピックのアーチャーになります。これからも頑張ります。応援してください! よろしくお願いします。

Ha ha I am an author among authors.

Thursday we had a luncheon, and I actually got a project finished. Also I went to Coldstone for the first time. They sing! And are cheerful! ...I could never work there.

So, I finished d/ling Goggle V entirely, I think. Even the movie. Now I just have to finish watching it with Staubs. Who, P.S., better be watching Sailor Moon like he said he would.

And, um, I watched some Smallville and have come to the conclusion that Ollie is the worst guy ever, not because he's a bad man (even though he is sometimes), but because he makes you like him anyway. I also find it interesting how they keep compressing legacies into one character. Although, Ollie with a drug addiction makes for, as Kate pointed out, being like a TV commercial. You know,

Ollie: Where'd you learn this!?
Roy: From you, okay, I learned it from you!

And Smallville has also proved Bart will never fail to be a w00bie, no matter how they change his character. Because Smallville!Bart is a klepto and has an attitude problem, but he just wants to be Clark's *friend* so badly it makes you want to give him cookies and milk. If he didn't steal them first. And I love how he says he's from the future. I'm going to have to remember that pick up line and use it sometime. "That pick up line" being:

Unsuspecting Victim: Where are you from?
You: The future. I came back in time to tell you we're still in love a hundred years from now.

Also, they used a Rascal Flatts song, so I have to give them props for that.

My compy has been acting funny... It flickers to low brightness sometimes. I wonder if the monitor is going? The guy told us when we bought my mom's compy that they only last about 2 years. Which, in fact, makes me a little upset because even though I know for size's sake it needs an LCD, it's not like it's easy to replace the monitor. Saa. I think Soroban-san is having the same troubles, so I'll see what she's doing about it.

Today I watched Hotel Rwanda and went to Taco Bell. I think we all know how inarticulate I am when it comes to mass murder, so let's talk about tacos. It was just my brother and me b/c my parents went to a party. Earlier in the day he had had his Gatorball match (in which he was the Green Lantern). It was kind of funny b/c we had all this food, but only one was for me.

I also sorted through my academic schedule with my mother, but bascially she just told me she thought I did the best I could with what I had. Which is nice, I guess.

嘘っ八百 [うそっばっびゃく] Know it.

I am going back the Burg next Sunday. In case anyone cared. I don't know what I'm going to eat on Monday... Ramen and Wawa I guess.

Stupid Kabuto won't download. Yappakle Toku has promised us Saikyou no Precious soon, however, so that's a plus. I feel like I'm really missing something from Satoru's characterization. And apparently the next two episodes are going to clear up Masumi for us, so. Yay.

I really want to do the DVD commentary meme, but nothing I've written is really long enough, except for Lift, which didn't recieve a big enough response to make me think anyone would like me to do it. I did some for our most recent post(s) in GCF, but I think there is only one, maybe two, person on my f-list who would care to see it. Well, and Rachel can always just pester me in person. IF SHE ESCAPES THE TSUNAMI!! Anyway.

Speaking of Rachel, I have obscene amounts of M*A*S*H now, and I think I should make Rachel watch it. Ha ha! It's like a trade. Except not, because Rachel's only making me watch Stargate while I've already shown her Deka and Boukenger and Justice League. Saaa. Well, if she (or any of the rest of you in the House) is interested, I'm sure she'll let me know.

OOOOOMMMMMGGGGEEEEZZZ. Ya'll remember my millionaire uncle and Wendy, his long-time live in girlfriend? My uncle who had my grandmother break up with Wendy two weeks ago because he couldn't do it himself? Apparently now they're getting married. Even though he's skiing RIGHT NOW with his other girlfriend. *HEADDESK*

You should watch the Escape from Shibuya show [ profile] shinosaisei suggested. No, for serious. It was awesome.

And... I should be cleaning the house. But, my parents should also be at the Commissary, so maybe I have some leeway XP

Got two AWESOME new skirts.

Dear Kevin Silas,

I'm not sorry. XD

P.S. I have more fic recs for you )

Well, two nights in the chat room have been an... interesting experience. All that matters is that I got extra points from Roc XD

Church on Sunday was... fast. There's speed praying, and then there was this mass. Probably because they had six today, and they had to set everything up for the later 3 in... 4 hours? Somewhere in there. Also, THERE WAS A GIRL ALTER SERVER. I was excited.

I knew those 1,000 pages would pay off in the end. Now I can... get. jokes. on the internet.

Um, I forgot to do my FAB update and I had no excuse. I'm sorry. I was just sitting at work, being DIRECTED TO SLACK. Srsly, what's wrong with me?

Speaking of, Quick thoughts on Kabuto/Boukenger )

And, um... Alarm company shennanigans. Guy on the phone with me for 22 minutes. Yeah, I'm back on the help desk, this time both SBIR and DTRA, and I'm beta testing. No web design, though D: Considering how much I like it, why am I not persuing career opportunities in that direction...? Shiran.

So, I'm not going to make an exhaustive Christmas List b/c that would be A) difficult; B) boring. I'd just like to say that I *am* happily jamming out to POP STAR. HAHAHAHA. Also, I found out I already one of the songs on the Do As Infinity album; it was used on WATERBOYS! I am glad the Holly song was on there, though. <--Only good thing to come out of Koibumi, that drama I was watching. No, seriously, that drama was PAINFUL.

I'll be honest, I don't really remember a lot of the things I was going to write about... Except how Kate stood me up last night. Gosh.

Watched Stargate 2.1. And now I'm cut. SAAAAAAA. I blame Rachel. Actually, funny story, I was thinking, "Wow, Daniel 'dies' a lot. I wouldn't even believe he was dead anymore." And, sure enough, the Wiki article has a section on how he's always dead. And on "Black Widow Carter" XP

d00d, how cool are these!?

Uh, yeah, that must seem random. Let me explain? (GCF within) )

And, man, is that Kato-sensei a slacker. She and Prof. Boyd have not posted my grades, and I would really appreciate it if they would to make myself feel my better about my GPA. You know, unless, they plan on giving me bad grades. In which case, they might as well just not.

Did all my banking, so I officially have a credit card and a second checking account now. Yay? I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do with this card because my Mom was first like, "You should buy a few things and then pay it immediately to build your credit." And then she was like, "No! No, don't use! Only for emergencies!" Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. The checking account was sneaky, though. They give you 200 free checks to start, but only if you buy their dumb pattern (I wanted Justice League :( ). And then, they don't give you a wallet, so you have to buy one of those. Oh, yes, tricky indeed. Well, and, I have to stop by the actual bank and deposit this check, and I guess the other ones I got for Christmas, but. Nah, I'll mail them to USAA. Ha ha!

And, a meme!

So. I got through it.

At about 8:13 I was tempted to post "ZOMG I ONLY HAVE A PARAGRAPH!!1", but it was actually fairly easy to write one I started, and I finished a whole hour early. This was good, because it meant I could have a nap. Of course, I had very poor planning b/c I was going to put my hair in pin curls, but I don't like to wash it *too* often b/c A) it looks better dry B) it takes FOREVER to dry. I suppose I could do it anyway tommorrow, but...

And then the Physic final. Wow. Well, I really didn't study for it. At all. I looked over my notes quickly *once*. This was b/c it was all I had time to do if I wanted to sleep, and I deemed sleep necessary. Obviously I should have begun studying in advance, but. Anyway, I STUPIDLY put there were 12 electrons in a d shell, and I had to guess/work long math that is probably wrong on several of them, but. I decided when Problem 6 wasn't working out to leave with my dignity and accept a Warrior's F.

...To be honest, I don't think I'll get an F. I think I nailed problems 1-3 and 8-9, three of the five parts of 7, and I managed to squeeze at least partial credit out of 4, 5, and 6, so I'm not as bad off as I seem. I just... Well, I went in with an A, but I don't know if I'll come out with one.

But enough about that! My f-list wants to hear about my CRAZY FANDOM ADVENTURES.

Bouken 42 )

Kaku 1-6 )

Um, speaking of [ profile] finalauraburst, I'm going to do that update *right now*. Mostly because it's my job, but also because I dropped the ball last week when I entered the subjective time warp known as "finals."

No, seriously dudes, have you notice how time suddenly becomes so much...harder to track... during finals? It's like a stream of... weird. Gah. Anyway.

I have the urge to watch Search for Spock now, but I don't have it with me because I don't have a VCR here. Honestly, I really should buy the DVD. It was really kind of awkward when we watched it last year and I was like, "hold on, we have to change from my large computer with enhanced picture quality to this seven year old video tape." But, it's better than when I want to watch First Contact. "Hold on guys, have to fast forward through the commercials." XP But... DVDs are expensive, man. さあ。

UPDATE ON COLTON O'CONNOR: He has not yet responded, but then, I have not challenged him directly. Through my amazing contacts I have obtained the area in which he lives and his room number. HaHA. I considered hanging a banner on our balcony, but I'm not sure if he knows where I live (like it's hard to figure out), and that might give away my position. And if you think I'm taking this too seriously, you're right, but I don't have another final until Thursday afternoon, and I'm *bored*.

Hey, you know what's hillarious? How Rachel and I seem to be trading sleep time like some kind of tag team. I wake up right when she's about to go to sleep and vice-versa. How DO we do it?

So, updates. Right. [ profile] finalauraburst, [ profile] 15pairings, GCF.

...One more story, and then I'll get on that.

(Might be easier if you had a link...)

So. I post in our quote thread something *I* found hillarious (I don't know about the rest of those goobers...) Kate said. Somehow (I never understand these things!), it gets turned into a discussion of changing my title to "constable" or something. I point out it makes no sense, I get a chain of logic thrown back at me. "I've been a Vulcan for as long as you have." Pssh. Puh-leaze. But, this story is not for boasting. It is to express annoyance**. So, I keep getting *pestered*, "Wasn't that a lovely logical point? Wasnnit?" *rolls eyes* I, of course, shut down his argument, made funnies, and referenced Disney movies as I am awesome like that. And what do I get back? That there is apparently an emotionless emoticon. While I am willing to concede that some emoticons are less emotional than others, they are emote-icons, by definition communicating emotional status. I'm sure nobody has noticed, but I have a strict "no-emoticon" policy. Well, with Sarah. With Gallo I kind of go nuts because I have to write feedback TO PEOPLE WHO CAN'T SPELL OR CAPATALIZE OR TELL HOMONYMS APART. But, that's not the point. I expected a deconstruction of my own arguments! Where is the witty banter!? Where's the peer review!? I mean, I know I'm good, but I'm certainly not perfect. Counterargument! Geez.

**This is by no means the goal of "frustrated beyond words," merely my disappointment at not finding a worthy opponent with which to match intellects on this topic.

Okay, REALLY going to do all that stuff now. TA TA!

Well, in the past six hours, I have been awesomely awesome, though perhaps not productive. In any case, I have for you four seasonal drabbles from my Star Trek RPG. We wrote more, but... In case you wanted to follow along and didn't know the characters, I can maybe help: Addral is a lot like Souta, and Katana is a mix of Swan and Umeko. Um, they're just fluff drabbles, shouldn't be too hard to follow.

Okay, so I promised to tell you all what I decided to with my schedule: Overload with Japanese *headdesk* I feel pretty bad about it since I'm only doing it because I'm too emotionally weak to stand against Kato-Sensei's emotional blackmailing and my own fear at not taking Japanese (WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITHOUT IT NEXT YEAR!?), but there's a 仕方 and there's a がない and I just don't know what I am going to do with myself.

A little more about my woes )

In which I continue my musings on long term relationships. )

Well, now I've finished whining to all my internet friends who don't care, I suppose I should actually come up with something of interest.

It's the French that got me.

Are memes interesting? )

A while ago this meme ) went around. Now, I didn't do it, and I'm not going to now, but it did get me thinking on the subject of the fanfiction being written since, you know, everybody asked for some. Which basically boils down to:

Man, I wish I didn't have to write everything for the pairings/lack thereof I want to read. If I want Satora, I have to write it. If I want Soukura, I have to write it or bully [ profile] scifislasher into doing it (you have no idea what you've done). There's a very small bit of Natsumi being written, one or two Sen/Umekos I know about, and any sentai gen or Kabuto fic is basically non-existent. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful we have people writing at all (even if it is pairings I don't particularly care for), but. And, of course, the biggest pairing causing me problems is *never* going to get taken out of my hands. *sigh* At least Kate will occasionally oblige me with with Katana gen or Katana/Addral, and Seth is good for a laugh. Always. But.... Maybe all one of my romantic relationships has been a train wreck and I don't know how to write this. [/whining]

At least I have [ profile] estirose! I am *so* looking forward to reading "Discovering the Sun" when it's finished, you have no idea.

Um, one more meme and then I'll go away. Year in Review meme )

Oh, and I *am* working on several icons with varying amounts of success.

I have eaten almost a whole bag of Tootsie Rolls. No matter how you slice it, this bodes ill. My hair also smells of ranch dressing...

I tried messing with the GIMP tonight, but it was slow and uncooperative since Muon is always like that, especially when your lab report is due in 15 minutes and you'd be done by now if you could just TYPE. So, I only got one out of it, and I don't even like it too much, but *shrug* Kagami gave me a hard time.

1 Boukenger icon here. Suggestions welcome. )

So, yeah, also, [ profile] shinosaisei reminded me, I saw GOD Bless America SPEED LOVE. So I guess I'll talk about it... )

I am now going to whine about video games, mostly because the rest of my f-list does...actually I don't have a reason. So, cut. )

I discovered $200 today! This is joyous! Now I can go to Ukrops and not worry! I like Ukrops ^^

I have an advent wreath on my door. Drawn on my door. In marker. But, as Andrew suggested, I think I'm going to slowly wear down the candles to make it more real :)

A few words on Advent )

In other church-related news, I'm sponsoring Rachel, which is pretty awesome if I may say so. Even though I doubt I'll be the best spiritual guide, I think we have had some really good conversations and stuff about it.

Also, Rachel? Stop snoring, please. I can hear you through my headphones, and it sounds like you're a dying fish or something, which is a bit disconcerting as you might imagine. ...not like you can read while you're asleep... XD

Ah, if only Rachel didn't read this, then I could tell you all all sorts of embarassing stories. Alas!

Recently on GCF was officer of the month voting, but now it's bimonthly, so... Anyway, the two nominees were me and Roc, and as we all know my feelings on the subject (do we? If we don't: I'm kind of not a fan of the current system because it doesn't recognize who's actually done something cool that month, but rather it eliminates people until everyone's had a turn and is also available to command members whos job it is to be awesome. Which is not to say I don't believe command staff should get it, but rather it should be much more difficult than it apparantly is.) (Wow, that was a long digression, kind of like Prof. Carone.), we can all predict where the Empie voting block through its support. As a reminder to certain forgetful people, I changed my Google Talk message to "Vote for Roc". Roc messages me with "With that kind of billing, I'm not even sure I'm going to vote for me," or thereabouts. So I change it but nothing good rhymes and whatever. Anyway, my current top secret project (which isn't very secret) led me to put up "It's only a paper forest." Sure enough, he strikes again with "Aren't all forests made of paper?"

Well, now it says "Roc is a wise-acre." Hah. Let's see what he has to say to that.

Hmmm, I'm getting up in 5 hours and I still have to take a shower... So I'll sign off here.

EDIT: Huzzah! Rachel is not longer snoring! Her ESPN must be stronger in her sleep, so from now on I will leave all messages in my LJ while she is asleep.

Rachel, give me all your chocolate.

It is 3AM. I am not finished with my lab report. I am barely started with my lab report. I have to do my problem set too. And I have to be awake and in front of my computer at 8AM to try and get into history.

One source of my woes: scheduling )

My Upcoming Death in North Carolina, complete with CAPS LOCK )

I have decided I am not sleeping tonight. Perhaps I will nap between lab and jazz. Unless I don't finish the problem set/lab, in which case, who knows when I'll sleep. Banner's trying to freak me out, and I have a lot of math to do, so I guess I leave you here.

*I would explain this, but... ムリっす。 [Japanese Humor]

Finally: We are drunk of Borg. Resistance is floortile.

EDIT: Nearly 7AM. A bag of Skittles and some Vault later, I'm halfway through and stuck. Oh noes

EDIT2: OMGeez. Do you know what, the Registrar? I HATE YOU. I am not allowed to register with the juniors because I am a sophmore, but because I am a "junior" I am not allowed a sophmore seat. GRAWR. I think I'm going to complain. I'm definitely going to complain. They put me completely out of the running for this class I *need* to graduate, and they will again next year when I'm a social junior but academic senior. BGRAR.

In other news, I figured out how to do the lab report, so I'm almost done with step 6 of 8. Then it's just the writing. *sob*

EDIT3: Do you think I can do it in 30-45 minutes? I have to code the equations and write the words... Hmmmm, it would be SO NICE, though, to have it done before lesson. Then the conversation can be changed from:

Prof. Boyd: You're really bad.
Me: Sorry, I haven't played in the last two weeks.
Prof. Boyd: F.

Prof. Boyd: You're really bad.
Me: Sorry, I've been really busy, and just last night I didn't sleep at all in lieu of a lab report. But it's done now!
Prof. Boyd: Alright!

Oh how tricksy I am. And by tricksy I mean rationing Vault and bugging my eyes to wake me up.

In approx. 8 hours I will be sitting down to take a Physics test. I have not studied. I don't even know what's on it.

I blame Abe.

No, no, that's not fair. He's been in office two days, I have to give him a chance. It just... I'm kind of upset. Why do I care!?

Yesterday? Actually had discussion in Zen because it was about linguistics and not Buddhism. >< Japanese test was BAD. Not looking forward to presentation, especially since she seems to think I've prepared in advance (NO). I've given though to the logistics, and gotten an idea of how I want to teach it, but the script? There are a lot of words I don't know.

Bicycle lock hates me. I'd say it rusted, but the ick is white in color. Besides which, it has been a MONTH. I can't not keep it outside; that's what it was supposedly MADE FOR.

Leadership seminar: waste. But I did get 4 performance points for the club; go me!

Lesson was good for, you know, not practicing until 45 minutes before. Lab was suprisingly painless. Dinner was... a trial, as always. FIRE ALARM. I know they're kind of big on it due to the fact, you know, it burned down. But still. We know that. Alia brings it up at every possible opportunity. Mishap with ramen. Oh well.

Race, Fanfiction, surprising stereotype shattering in the GCF, Uhura the Vulcan, and the fact I like statistics too much for someone who has no formal education in getting them )

I should really get back to studying and whatnot. I just wanted to get my list up before anything untoward might happen to it.

List, schedule, and other boring stuffs )

Apparently I asked the best question today:

When speaking about Schrödinger's cat, should one use あります or います?

Other then that, got some interesting mail: PACKAGE FROM FUKI!! Also, ballot and paraphenalia to that effect. I don't know who to vote for for the Senate. TIM, WHERE ARE YOU!?

Kendo was... okay. I wasn't tired, but I was completely bad. I couldn't hit anything. Bleargh.

Have to go to the bank tommorrow, and also leadership seminar. At least it's in Andrews...

Broke one of my plant pots :( I super-glued it back together, but... At least it didn't have a plant in it at the time.

Card swiping system was down, so laundry was HORRIBLE! Just finished, roughly 12 hours later :( Well, actually, it was done a while ago, but I forgot about it. So here I am, running across the compound in my pajamas thinking, as Staubs so eloquently put it, "OH LOOK OVER THERE IS IT A MURDERER? NO IT'S A PLASTIC BAG." with only my pop-up hamper. Luckily, I knew I would know how to protect myself thanks to Goggle Blue.

* Pic w/ Cranky Masumi. I greyscaled it because, as you may recall, I was having some trouble with the coloring. I would suggest reading the fic, too, because it's really cute.

Musashi! Ooooh, do it again. Musashi! Ooooh. Musashi! Ooooh. Musashi, Musashi, Musashi!

...I'm surrounded by an idiot.
